Triangle Business Journal and Bosphorus in Cary

 Holiday Mixes and Mediterranean Flavors

December always means good holiday parties and I love how they start out early in the month!  Sarah Thacker and I attended the Triangle Business Journal Holiday Bizmix on Monday night.  The event was SOLD OUT and was held at Ruth’s Chris Steak House in Durham.  Sarah and I had a really nice time at the event; we missed the door prize drawing (bummer!) but were still able to enjoy a few of the appetizers and evening drinks.  It was nice to see Michelle Muir and Gary Becker at the social and I had the opportunity to meet other business owners & leaders.

 

Michelle introduced me to Anna Kizer, she’s the owner of Vino!! Wine Shop in downtown Pittsboro.  I’m going to plan a daytrip to Pittsboro with my mom and I look forward to stopping by to see Anna!  We had fun talking with Dennis Hinkle, a new friend from the TJB.  Sarah and I were both exhausted from a long day of work so we kicked our shoes off as we headed over to the local Chili’s to relax for the evening.  Thanks to My Girlfriend’s Closet of Apex for the social cocktail dress, it was HOT PINK and really added a splash of color to the evening event!  Best place to shop in Cary/Apex!

 

I had lunch at a Cary restaurant on Tuesday with Sarah and friend, Julie Dudley, owner of Silver Pearl, Inc.  This was my first time eating at Bosphorus Restaurant, which serves authentic & healthy Turkish Mediterranean cuisine.  Sarah is a big fan of this place, so she helped navigate us through the menu.  We shared the Bosphorus Meze Platter (cold appetizer) and then I had the Adana Kebab (spicy hot) entrée for lunch.  All of it was very good and very fresh.  It was a nice change of flavor for me and the restaurant was fully packed while we were there.  Prices were reasonable (thanks for lunch Sarah!) and I look forward to going back there soon.
