Tax Dinner at the Angus Barn

At the end of every ‘tax season’, our family goes out for a celebration TAX DINNER at the Angus Barn in Raleigh, NC.  This is a wonderful time for our family to celebrate the four previous months of long days at the office, weekend working hours and stressful deadlines.  It is a time that we look forward to each year and for the past several years we have chosen to have dinner at the Angus Barn.  The atmosphere there is so relaxing and very enjoyable.  We like to arrive early and relax in the Wild Turkey Lounge with a glass of wine and the delicious cheese, crackers and pickle tray goodies.   The décor of the Angus Barn is so charming and it has been a favorite of Bob’s for many years. 

Van and Becca

  I’ve been blessed to have a good close & personal relationship with Van Eure (owner of the Angus Barn) for several years.  She was a mentor to me during my years at East Carolina University in the Hospitality Management Department and we both were close with Dr. Jim Chandler, who sadly passed away last year.   Van stopped by our table during the evening to say hello and I (of course) had to get our annual picture together (I have a nice collage of pictures with her from over the years in my office).   After we were finished with our dinner, we stopped by the gift shop to pick up a few goodies. I bought two of their soy double wick candles (one for me and one for my mom) and also purchased the most adorable baby shower gift ever!  It was a cute teddy bear that plays peek-a-boo when you push his foot.  It was a baby shower gift for a friend (the shower was on Sunday) and it was a favorite of the mom-to-be!
